New York Fashion Week Beauty Trends | 2015

“Disclosure: This post was sponsored by Walgreens through their partnership with POPSUGAR Select. While I was compensated to write a post about Walgreens Beauty, all opinions are my own.”
I have to say, I was extremely excited to see all of the beauty and fashion trends from New York Fashion Week. Trends ranged from monochromatic styles to colorful looks and mixed patterns. It's not always easy to get a good look at the makeup looks on stage but luckily I followed TONS of makeup artists and brands who were backstage during the week.

Originally I had thought that the eye makeup would be very minimal and that the face would be bare with bold lips. This year, I saw more on the eyes - mostly graphic liner! I saw a lot of colorful liners and shaped liner. The skin seemed to be clean and fresh, which is what I had predicted. Lip colors stayed on the neutral to bare side with the exception of bold reds.

I re-created this look to match certain trends I saw during New York Fashion Week 2015:
To prep my skin I mixed No7 P&P Intense Serum Tube and Botanics Triple Age Serum for a youthful glow.

I used Circa's Vivid Vinyl Eye Lining Fluid to create a winged liner with a twist. The Eye Lining Fluid contains small green glitter particles that are subtle, yet still noticeable to give you a funky and colorful look. You could also create a sweet metallic liner with Colour Prevails Eye Shimmer Powders.
I kept the cheeks natural with No7 Bronzed Mosaic Bronzer to maintain the "no-makeup makeup" look and topped the lips with a clear gloss, which I noticed a lot of makeup artists also using on the eyes during Fashion Week!

What were some of your favorite beauty trends? I loved the looks that were wearable and easy to recreate! You can't go wrong with a fresh face and some winged liner!

  1. Nice look! The color of the liner is subtle but definitely there, & I'm happy that a more natural skin finish is becoming popular, as opposed to Barbie Doll perfect.

My own planned Autumn to Winter look is based on fresh skin, big eyes, and a nude-y lip. But the trend of wine on the eyes is one I'll be playing around with too, though less sparsely than I've observed in fashion clips-- runway looks are a bit shocking at the supermarket!

  2. Hey, very nice site. I came across this on Google, and I am stoked that I did. I will definitely be coming back here more often. Wish I could add to the conversation and bring a bit more to the table, but am just taking in as much info as I can at the moment. Thanks for sharing.
