After purchasing MAC's Mineralized Blush in "Warm Soul", I quickly realized I had a blush that not only was very similar, but also might be a bit more impressive in the pigmentation and longevity department. This gave me the idea to start another "dupe series" where I talk about cheaper dupes that, in my opinion, outshine the high end competitor!
For my first post I'm comparing and contrasting MAC's Mineralized Blush in "Warm Soul"($27) and NYX Baked Blush in "Ignite"($6.99). I couldn't pass up Warm Soul after seeing so many rave about it. I googled photos and swatches and became sold on it. After I received it in the mail, not only did it appear more "peachy" than I had expected, the color pay off seemed to be sheer and unpleasantly surprising. It takes quite a bit of layering to get it to show up on my skin. The description online says a "beige with gold pearl". Am I the only one seeing a flat out peach blush here? Seriously, if you own Warm Soul tell me if this is what yours looks like!
Now let's talk about "Ignite". As soon as I saw Warm Soul, I immediately thought to myself, "Um, I know I have something that looks like this for a heck of a lot cheaper." I quickly went through my blushes and found Ignite. Not only is it more pigmented than Warm Soul, I find that it lasts longer too. I will say it is a bit more orange but once applied on the cheeks, you can hardly tell a difference.
Here I have Warm Soul layered about 3-4 times on my cheeks. It takes quite a bit to build the color up to my preference. If you have more of a fair complexion this blush would probably work a bit better for you.
"Ignite" wins over "Warm Soul" in practically every aspect. It's more pigmented, lasts longer, and is nearly four times cheaper. I would definitely give it a go before splurging on Warm Soul! You can find NYX products at your local ULTA.
What do you guys think? Some online swatches of "Warm Soul" seem to be more beige and some seem to be more similar to mine (peachy)? I'm still confused by this! haha Regardless, "Ignite" takes the cake on this post! I look forward to hunting down cheaper and better dupes for ya'll! :)
