4th of July Beauty Basics

Happy Fourth of July to all! For the past few weeks, people around my apartment area have been setting off massive fireworks. Don't get me wrong, I love a good fireworks show, but NOT until the fourth (I will make an exception for beach fireworks as well). Needless to say, I'm ready for the real thing!

I wanted to share with you my simple, yet statement look for Independence Day. I kept things pretty simple but added bold features to spice the look up. Hope you like!
For some reason, I think gold and red are such timeless and classic colors. It's a perfect color combo for any special occasion look. I wanted to keep the eyes pretty simple since the lips are so bold.

First of all, I have to mention my new favorite face product of possibly all time, MAC MSF in "Cheeky Bronze". Holy cow, this is such a gorgeous multi-task product. I've been using it NON STOP ever since I received it. It gives your cheeks the most gorgeous golden glow but also acts as a natural peachy blush.
Of course the lips are the main focus. I used Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in "Live it Up" which is a true warm toned red. I'm not a huge fan of using blue based red lip colors so I knew I wanted to stick with this particular shade for this look. It's a firecracker red, for sure!

I kept the eyes simple with a golden champagne duo from Bare Minerals called, "The Top Shelf" and added MAC's Power Point Liner in "Buried Treasure" to the top and bottom lash line for soft definition. I also used a bit of "Charcoal Brown" in the crease.

What are you guys wearing today? I'd love to know! Happy Independence Day!
