Hydrating Beauty Picks

Hi everyone! Fall is definitely in there air here in Tennessee! I think it has topped out right below 70 degrees today which is the perfect temperature in my opinion!

As the season grows colder and dryer, my skin does the exact same. I have naturally dry skin all year round (even in the summer - it sucks) so you can imagine how bad it gets in the winter.

I wanted to share a few of my hydrating beauty finds I've been experimenting with for the season. Enjoy!

Hydrating Beauty Must-Haves

Hydrating Beauty Must-Haves

Seventh Generation "Boosts" Hydrating Skin Serum: This product is heavenly for dry skin! I always put it on at night before I go to bed, and also a small dime size amount on before my primer and foundation. It is technically an oil/serum so make sure you DO have very dry skin before trying this product out.

I'm so in love. It's about the only skincare product that has seemed to relieve my dry skin. The scent was a little unpleasant at first because it does contain lavender and chamomile (literally my two least favorite scents) but I managed to get over it.

Benefit "Hello Flawless" Oxygen WOW Foundation: What a mouth-full! I received a sample size of this foundation from a previous Sephora order and wasn't expecting much from it. Holy cow was I wrong!

As some of you may know, I've been a long time Bare Minerals user (no liquids, creams, etc.) and lately my skin has drastically changed - going from dry to extremely dry. Some days my powder foundation literally looks awful on me. So, I took the plunge and ordered Tarte's Amazonian Clay foundation. I wasn't extremely impressed with it because it has more of a matte/silk finish.

When I tried the Benefit foundation, I first of all, could not believe how well it covered. It gives me full coverage with the tiniest amount of product. Secondly, it is so moisturizing. I even find my skin to be a tad bit on the shiny side when the day is over....that never happens with me (which is a good thing)!? If you're in desperate need of a hydrating foundation...I've been so in love with this one!

Tarte Maracuja Airblush Cream Blush in "Shimmering Poppy": I discovered these blushes while browsing Tarte's website a few weeks ago and couldn't believe I had never heard of these. The name "airblush" instantly caught my eye.

The blush is marketed as an airbrush-like finish being super easy to blend and light-weight on the skin. Let me just's awesome! Unlike their cheek stains, it apply super smooth with just the right amount of pigmentation. I have a few of the cheek stains and I feel like they can get sticky on the cheeks and are much more harder to apply. The airblushes are fabulous! Super smooth, great pigmentation, and last all day!

Since it is a cream blush, it blends so well into my dry skin and doesn't cling to dry patches. I just wish these came in more colors! The one I picked up was "Shimmering Poppy". It doesn't have a shimmer finish to it even though it does contain shimmer particles. The color is a unique blend of coral and bright scarlet.

Bare Minerals SPF 20 Correcting Concealer: With my newly incorporated cream/liquid foundations in my makeup routine, the Bare Minerals Correcting Concealer has worked like a gem for me. I wasn't a huge fan of it when applying it with the powder products but it has worked great with my Tarte and Benefit foundation.

The consistency is super creamy and very easy to blend. Plus, you get great coverage with it as well!

Clinique Superbalm Moisturizing Lip Gloss: This was another diamond in the rough that I just happened to stumble upon. I first tried this gloss way back last year, I believe. I got it in a Clinique gift set and ended up giving it a whirl.

Like the rest of my skin, my lips are always dry and chapped (I'm making myself sound like a scaly dry monster, I know...but that's how I feel haha) The gloss is more a "jelly" or "gelee" consistency. It's very thick, but in a good way. It smooths out and gives you the most moisturized feeling on your lips. I'm a fan!

I hope you guys enjoyed this little makeup advice session for dry skin. If you don't have dry skin, most of these products should still work fine on you if you're interested in giving them a shot! I would stay clear of the Hydrating Serum and go for one of their other custom serums (they come in all types!)

Be on the look out for a new "Friday Face" tomorrow!

As always,
Thanks for reading!
Until next time...
