How To Conceal Age Spots & Freckles: Bare Minerals Style

Hi guys! I'm so excited about today's post because I talked my Mom into being the main model!

I know some of my readers are in their 30's and up. A big question I get asked is, "How do I hide my age spots/sun spots?" Well, today I wanted to share a technique I use on every woman, whether it's freckles, age spots, sun spots, or even moles, it seems that these three steps can really make a dramatic difference in your concealing routine!

The best part (in my opinion) is that all of the products are from my one and only brand, Bare Minerals! Of course, if you prefer other brands and have similar products, use what you have. I'm just partial to these because I know they work fabulously. Enjoy!

Step 1: Correcting Cream Concealer
  • Cream concealers may not seem to make a huge difference upon first application. However, it's the color correcting agent you really want to look for in a cream concealer. A good cream concealer should correct the darkness on the area you're targeting. As you can tell on my Mom, the cream concealer doesn't necessarily mask her spots but instead, tones down the darkness and still provides a small amount of coverage.

Step 2: Foundation
  • My Mom and I are die hard believers in Bare Mineral's Original foundation. She has been using BM since 2000 and has never went back to anything. As most of you know, I work at a BM store and I've only been wearing it for a little over two years. I've raved and rambled over how much it has helped my skin as well as giving me flawless coverage. I can't recommend this foundation enough! After applying the cream concealer, gradually build up your coverage with foundation to create an even complexion.

Step 3: Bisque Powder Concealer
  • This is what I consider to be a miracle worker. All of Bare Mineral's powder concealers are absolutely amazing. The coverage is unbeatable and creates such a flawless look. It's literally a product you have to try to believe. The powder concealers go on after the foundation which is an interesting twist, but trust me, it works best that way!

Step 4: Finish with Your Blush, Eye Shadow, etc.
  • Blush, eye shadow, mascara, and a little bit of lip color can also make a difference. Enhancing your natural features detracts from any spots or freckles you may not be comfortable with.

Products We Used:
  • Bare Minerals Original Foundation "Fairly Light N10"
  • Bare Minerals Correcting Cream Concealer "Light 2"
  • Bare Minerals "Bisque" Powder Concealer
  • Bare Minerals READY Blush "The One"
  • Bare Minerals "Warmth" All Over Face Color
  • Bare Minerals Mineral Veil
  • Bare Minerals Queen Phyllis Eye Shadow
  • Bare Minerals Flawless Definition "Volumizing" Mascara

I hope you all enjoyed this post! I'm glad my Mom could help out and be a great example for the before and after shots! Let me know if you have any questions!

Until next time...

  1. Nice post! I love bareMinerals. I've never understood people who don't like their concealer. It's one of those moments when I am just like...what? Both the cream and powder concealer are lifesavers for me. I am a big fan of the foundation too, especially because I feel like it helps my face breathe instead of smothering it in chemicals. This was a good post though because I feel like a lot of people are intimidated by mineral makeup!

    1. I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks so much for reading!
