Clinique CC Cream

Hi everyone! I'm so sorry I've been lacking on the posts. My internet suddenly went out a couple days ago plus I've been working on finals. I literally just got my internet up and running again minutes ago and the first thing I wanted to do was get a review up I've been working on for a while!

I purchased the Clinique CC Cream a couple of weeks ago and I I've been wearing it about every other day so I can get some personal opinions on it. I hope you enjoy!

Basic Info:
  • 6 shades
  • SPF 30
  • $35
  • Main Purpose: Hydration and Color Correction
  • Sheer to Medium Coverage
  • Dewey Finish

My Shade
I chose the shade "Light". Had I of ordered online, I would have chose "Light Medium". However, I did purchase the CC cream in stores and I am definitely glad that I did. In my opinion, the shades are a bit dark. All of the BB creams I own are in the "light medium" range so I was a bit surprised when I tried the "Light Medium" CC cream on my hand and it showed up WAY too dark, I was even wearing self tanner.

I went down to "Light" and it seemed to be a good match. I would definitely advise you to look at the colors before you buy!

Before and After
Before CC Application

"After CC Application"

  • Very comfortable wear. The cream is not heavy and feels light on the skin.
  • Nice dewy finish, which I like.
  • Coverage is buildable to a good medium cover finish.
  • Does a great job of evening out your complexion. However, don't look for full or heavy coverage! As you can tell, my freckles still peek through which is what I prefer, especially for summer.
  • Wears great under powder foundation.
  • I personally would not recommend this product to be worn alone on oily skin. You will definitely need to set it with a translucent powder at the least.
  • Colors are rather dark in my opinion.
  • The cream does have a bit of that heavy "SPF" scent to it which I can get over, but I know a lot of people are overwhelmed by that smell.
My Overall Thoughts
I have definitely been enjoying this product for those days when I want something that will simply even out my complexion without masking my face. Like I mentioned above, make sure you go to a Clinique counter and check out the colors unless you're super confident on what color you'll need. Even though I like a dewy finish, I've found myself topping the CC cream off with translucent powder on days when I will be on-the-go, just to ensure it stays put.

Overall, I think Clinique has done a great job with the color correction concept. I wouldn't necessarily say that I need "color" correction, but it's nice to blur out all of those freckles on my face every now and then! ;)

Hope you all enjoyed!

Until next time...
