One of the top trends in the makeup world right now is contouring. It's no longer reserved for those full-on glam looks that models in the magazines used to sport. Contouring is a part of many people's daily routine now. It can definitely be intimidating if you've never attempted it before but Maybelline has made it pretty darn easy with their new Master Contour Palette.
Contouring doesn't always have to be such a sharp dramatic look. I actually prefer the light every day technique, which is what I'll be sharing with you today. I created a soft and romantic every day contour makeup look which will be perfect for a daytime lunch date on Valentine's Day or maybe a new look you can sport daily.
Step 1 : Apply Maybelline Dream Velvet Soft Matte Hydrating Foundation for a smooth and flawless base.
Step 2 : Apply a highlighting concealer under the eyes, bridge of the nose, chin, and forehead.
Step 3 : Blend concealer out with Maybelline Dream Blender.
Step 4: Pick up a small amount of the "contour" shade from the Maybelline Master Contour Palette and sweep shade directly under cheek bones, across outer perimeter of forehead and under the jawline.
Step 5 : Pick up the blush shade from the Master Contour Palette with your blush brush and sweep lightly onto the apples of the cheeks.
Step 6 : Pick up highlight shade from the Master Contour Palette and sweep the shade on top of your cheek bones, tip of nose and temples of your forehead.
Step 7 : For an added bonus, use the highlight shade on the inner corners of your eyes and on the center of your eye lid. Add the bronzer shade into your crease for soft definition. Lastly, apply mascara and a soft pink lip color.
I know there seems to be a million contour palette's out there right now but the Maybelline Master Contour Palette would be my choice for the best every day or beginner palette that I have in my collection - you can't mess it up! It's also super affordable at your local Walmart and can be found in the cosmetics section along with the rest of your favorite Maybelline products.
I'm normally not a matte foundation kinda gal but the Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation was actually designed to hydrate the skin. I was skeptical at first but I didn't notice any patchy areas clinging to the dry spots on my face. It also created a super flawless finish for the contour and highlighting! You can pick this up along with the Dream Blender in the same section at Walmart.
Do you think you could master this easy contour session for an every day soft makeup or an upcoming Valentine's Day date? I definitely think you can! Practice makes perfect and it doesn't take much with these easy and flawless steps.
Let me know if you try these products or techniques out! I'd love to see your results :)
