I was soooo incredibly excited when I saw BITE had just released this new formula of lipstick called "Butter Cream" ($28) - I mean, that name though? How could I pass on one of the most luxurious lipstick brands that now has a "Butter Cream" lipstick.
So, I didn't...as my final birthday treat to myself, I picked up two shades called "Heather" and "Hazelnut". I couldn't find many reviews online since these are fairly new so I wasn't sure which colors to pick from. I really just took a gamble and picked the ones that I thought I would wear the most.
The packaging is rather bulky and round. The caps do have a handy magnetic attachment (similar to NARS Audacious) which I really like. At first glance, I thought the lipsticks looked like they had less product than an average lipstick. However, they actually have about the same or even more than most lipsticks (.15 grams)
Application: Application with this lipstick is very tricky. Since they're hand cut in a circular shape, it's hard to apply the product precisely to your lips. You'll definitely need a mirror for these!
Color Pay Off: The pigment is just right! The're medium to full coverage on the lips and deliver a rich looking finish.
Texture: The formula is really moisturizing and comfortable on the lips. I've tried BITE's regular lipsticks before and much prefer the formula of these. I love the way they feel!
Lasting Power: For a creamy texture, these have great staying power. I would say you can get at least 4 hours of wear before having to touch up or reapply!
Heather (photographed on left): This is definitely my favorite shade of the two. In the tube it looks like a coral pink but surprisingly when applied, more pink tones come through!
Hazelnut: This shade didn't apply as well on my lips. It seemed to be somewhat dryer and the shade was pretty dark on my fair skin.
Overall I'm a big fan of these lipsticks! The packaging may be a bit big and the hand cut tips require a closer application technique but the colors are rich and the formula feels great on the lips! Have you tried the BITE "Butter Cream" Lipsticks yet?
