Smashbox Full Exposure Travel Palette

I have a love/hate relationship with mini versions of already popular beauty products. It's like, "Why do you have to be so cute and travel friendly? I need you in my life!" Out of all of the aisles and stands in Sephora, the travel/mini section towards the check out always draws me in more than any other section.

I have been holding off on the Smashbox Full Exposure Palette for a long time. I definitely did not need another full size palette in my stash, especially since I have the LORAC Pro. But when I saw the Full Exposure Travel Palette, the little makeup devil in the back of my head said, "You deserve this. You held off for a long time on the full size. Buy it! Buy it! Buy it!" So, I bought it....

The Full Exposure Travel Palette contains 8 shadows (4 matte & 4 shimmers/glitters), all of which remain on the neutral scale of colors. I love the variety. I am personally more drawn to this one over the original.

I think it is less overwhelming for me because I already own quite a few large neutral palettes and this one provides more convenience as far as packaging goes and also a great selection of colors that don't overlap.
Don't let the online images fool you on size! This is TRULY a MINI palette. It fits in the palm of my hand and is a super slim/sleek compact. For some reason, I pictured it being larger (as I generally do.) But I actually appreciate the compactness of it for travel and space.

I also love that the palette contains a mirror! Most mini palettes neglect on detail and areas like mirrors or brushes (not that anyone uses the flimsy mini brushes anyways.)
I found some of the glitter shades to not go on as smoothly or as pigmented as the matte colors. Chocolate Brown and Soft Gold took a bit to build up onto the lids. There was also a good amount of fall out with those two shades as well.

Other than that, each shadow seemed to perform great! The mattes are beautiful and blend to perfection. The two glitter shades have a rough start but eventually will build up.
Eyes:
  • Full Exposure Travel Palette (Chocolate Brown, Soft Matte, Matte Warm Chocolate Brown, and Ashy Dark)
  • Urban Decay "Black Heart" Liner
  • Blinc Mascara (did nothing for my lashes obvs.)
Face:
  • MAC Face and Body Foundation (N3)
  • Bare Minerals Original Foundation (Light)
  • Bare Minerals Summer Bisque
  • Anastasia Contour Powder (Cream Soda & Camel)
  • NARS "Deep Throat" Blush
  • BITE Beauty Lush Fruit Lip Gloss in "POPSUGAR" (limited edition color for Pop sugar Must Have Box)

Do you guys think you can resist this palette? I'm loving it!

  1. I've wanted to try this palette, but whenever I search up watches they just don't look pigmented enough! I'd rather save the money or pay the same price for Naked Basics! I do however love the look that you did with this palette, I think it suits you very well!

    1. I find this palette to be more versatile than the Naked Basics :) The matte shades are out of this world pigmented but the chocolate shimmer and gold shimmer do lack a bit!
