Makeup Geek Pigments: Afterglow & New Year's Eve

I finally jumped on the Makeup Geek wagon and I have to say, I am super stoked that I did! After receiving some of the regular pan eye shadows from a friend, I wanted to test out the highly raved about pigments too. I picked out the cult favorite, "Afterglow" and one I hadn't heard much about called, "New Year's Eve".
MUG "New Year's Eve"
New Year's Eve is a beautiful duo chrome pigment with a pale white undertone and specs of gold, white, and even green glitter. This is a pigment I would use on top of a darker eye look to really make the center of the eye pop. I think it would go great with colorful makeup looks too.
MUG "Afterglow"
Afterglow was a bit more on the brownish beige side than I had anticipated. It still has a very unique "gilded" finish to it. On my skin tone, I also pick up a bit of copper in it. I really love the overall finish. It's that perfect every day color if you're looking for a pop of shimmer!
The formula of these are obviously super pigmented! They aren't dry or flaky and apply evenly all over the lids. The only downfall for me is the packaging. The containers do not have sifters on them so when you open them, pigment immediately goes everywhere. I actually almost had a huge spill occur while shooting these pictures. Luckily I caught the pigment before it spilled out everywhere! However, I do believe they offer sifters at an extra cost.

The price is unbeatable. At $6.99 you have nothing to lose! They are worth every penny and more. I love the affordability MUG offers to customers. I would have to say this is one of the highest quality brands for an amazing price!
I'm loving all of my MUG products so far! Especially the pigments! Have you guys tried Makeup Geek? Any recommendations? :)

  1. Would love to try some MUG eyeshadows, but it's not fun paying for shipping & costums costs. Love the Afterglow colour!
