Tarte continued on their quest for the best lip products when they added these new Amazonian Butter Lipsticks to their collection. It seems that the term "butter" has became a huge consumer magnet for cosmetic companies these days. I mean, in the words of Fat Amy - "lez be honest", I want my lips to feel buttery smooth!
These lipsticks come in a similar packaging form as their (now discontinued) Color Enhancing Lipsticks. The tubes literally feel like cardboard packaging, I'll admit, it doesn't seem to be the best protective packaging but nothing has happened to them yet! They contain .10oz of product and retail for $16 a piece.
Left to Right: Watermelon, Tulip, Angelic Nude
Watermelon is the brightest out of the three. It's a gorgeous bright pink shade. It does contain a bit of a coral undertone to it. I wouldn't necessarily call this shade an identical match to the actual color of watermelon, however, it does have that fun bright summer feel to it!
Tulip is such a fun interesting color. I was initially thinking it would be an every day pink shade but it actually has quite a bit of a red undertone. It's definitely more of a subdued rosy color. I'm actually glad it didn't turn out to be a standard pink color! Again, it's a very fun and fresh color for summer!
I was really apprehensive about Angelic Nude. It seemed to be one of those shades that could look different on everyone. I was also afraid it would be a bit on the sheer side. To my surprise, it turned out to be a lovely pigmented nude color! I do think that on lighter skin tones it may pick up a bit more on the beige/salmon side. If you are darker in skin tone, it will definitely appear more sheer.
Top to Bottom: Tulip, Angelic Nude, Watermelon
Overall I really enjoy the creamy texture of these lipsticks. They have about a 3-4 hour lasting power on me (Watermelon and Tulip last longer). The feel is definitely buttery smooth and is super comfortable. I also want to mention the scent which is identical to their LipSurgences and pretty much every other lip product that they make. It has that subtle minty scent to it that fades once applied.
Have you guys tried the Amazonian Lip Butters? What did you think!
