Hi, friends! Due to my awful blogging techniques, I left last week on vacation without any pre-scheduled posts. I know, pretty sketchy. However, the week before last just so happened to be the busiest week of my life, literally.
I was supposed to head for Arkansas to a conference on the 8th. Unfortunately, due to finals week and scheduled wedding clients (I do a lot of bridal makeup artistry in the summer), I was unable to attend. Let's just say from May 6th to the 10th (the night I left of vacation), I was completely slammed with no room left to breathe.
So, that was my long apology spill. On the other hand, I couldn't have enjoyed my time away any more! I headed off to Marco Island, Florida with my boyfriend and his family. A fun fact about me, I was actually born in Florida and lived there until I was 5, then started school in Tennessee.
I always enjoy going back, and honestly, who wouldn't enjoy a trip to Florida? Marco Island is further south in Florida, right near Naples. It's a darling little island with the best hideaway beaches, lagoons, and just so happens to be the best shelling beach I've ever been to! The beaches were just covered in beautiful conch shells!
I also had my first experience with ocean kayaking! I've kayaked lakes a few times in the past. The twist for me, wasn't the fact that I was kayaking in the ocean, but that I was in a double kayak with Will (my boyfriend.) Will is very competitive and it took us a few paddles to get "in sync" with each other. Needless to say, we had a rough start due to the wind and the fact that neither of us had kayaked in quite some time. Eventually, we got the hang of it and had a blast!
So, this was just a little piece of where I went for the past week. Thanks for sticking by me and expect some fun posts coming up within the next few days!
Until next time...
