NEW Tarte Be MATTEnificent Eye & Cheek Palette

Hi, guys! I hope everyone had a great week! Today I'm sharing my thoughts on Tarte's brand spanking new palette - The "Be MATTEnificent" all matte palette! Enjoy!
At first glance, I fell in love with this palette. It's so romantic and airy. The classic rose shades mixed with the deep cool tones is a phenomenal match up. Oh, and can we talk about the GORGEOUS amethyst/plum packaging? So beautiful!

I was skeptical about purchasing ($36) this palette since the majority of it is eye shadows. In the past, Tarte's eye shadows really haven't been a "hit" for me. Most shadows I would find to be lacking in pigment and presentation.

I can fortunately say, ladies and gents, that this palette is almost 100% color pay off! I think there might have been a formulation change based on how smooth, velvety, and pigmented these colors are. Every shade went on so smoothly and gave great color payoff - even for a matte shadow!
The names are also very quirky - gotta love a palette with interesting names! The entire set comes with six matte eye shadows, two matte shadow liners, one matte blush, and a small dual ended eye shadow brush.

The only cons, for me, were the shadow liners. It was so strange, when swatched, they appear so pigmented. However, when I applied them as liners, they almost went on "patchy". Some areas were really dark and the others were just grey. A couple extra applications covered the patchy areas but I don't know what happened there.
The "Elevated" blush in this palette is absolutely gorgeous! It's the perfect nude pink. I was thankful the palette didn't include a wild shade of blush to throw everything off. Again, very fresh and neutral!

I'm giving the new and fresh palette an A+! What do you guys think?

Will you be purchasing the "Be MATTEnificent" Palette"? :)

Until next time...

  1. Love the look! Did you use the eyeliner wet? I believe that because it's a cake liner it would work better when used wet. I can't wait to get mine, it's in the mail! xx
