Hi guys! Happy Hump Day! I recently made my first EVER MAC purchase. I honestly didn't know how to feel about it. I'm more on the natural cosmetic side and obviously MAC is notorious for being a pretty heavy cosmetic brand. However, after seeing and reading all of the amazing reviews over the Pro LongWear Concealer, I had to give in.
I've been on the struggle bus to find an amazing cream/liquid concealer lately. My skin is just a little too dry right now to use my Well Rested Powder by Bare Minerals (all time favorite concealer). I've been using the Bare Minerals Correcting Concealer but it is just a total nightmare as far as creasing goes. The coverage is okay but I wanted something that really made a difference - so, that's how I ended up at MAC.
When I thought about what shade I would need, I was confident I would be NW15, seeing how pale I am. When I was talking to the MAC consultant she told me NW15 would work for me but may appear lighter (almost like a highlighting concealer) under my eyes. She recommended that I try NW20 even though I was pretty set on NW15. When she tried both shades under my eyes, we all agreed NW20 looked better! I was amazed. It looks rather dark in the tube but actually applies pretty light - I'd have to agree that it's a great match for me.
ProLongwear is definitely a heavy duty concealer. I was pleasantly surprised at how light it felt on the skin though! The staying powder is great and the best part is, it doesn't crease on me!!! As far as cream/liquid concealer goes, this has to be the best I've ever tried.
I also heard you could use it as an eye primer. If you notice, in the photo above, my left eye is a bit more hooded than my right. This causes my eye liner to crease and transfer to my eye lid, which I hate. Since I've been using the Pro LongWear Concealer, I haven't had any trouble with liner creasing! I was amazed - it's been solving all of my creasing problems!
Overall, I'm so pleased with this purchase. This may sound silly but I've been so excited to do my makeup every day because of this concealer! The only con for me is that it has an off-putting scent. I can't exactly describe it but it obviously doesn't linger throughout the day.
I can see this lasting me FOREVER and I hope I've found a permanent staple in my makeup collection :)
