Lush Handmade Cosmetics Review

Hello, friends! I'm back from my holiday hiatus. It's so hard to get back in the swing of things after you've had a good long vacation, plus, having to clean and find space for your new Christmas goods!

I received some exciting Lush products from my parents for Christmas. We don't have a Lush store in Tennessee (to my knowledge) and I've always heard great things about their unique products. So, I was really excited to find these items in my stocking!

Lush is a handmade cosmetic company. I love that their products visually represent them. Everything literally looks/tastes fresh and handmade. The products are so unique and unlike any other company. I even received a sticker on some of my products telling me the person who made the item, on what date it was produced, and when it expires - neat huh?

Here's what I ended up with:

This very well could have been my favorite Lush product I received. "Whip Stick" is a delicious lip balm flavored with whipped chocolate and orange extracts. It literally tastes like you're biting into a chocolate orange. I find with a lot of chocolate flavored lip balms, they taste artificial or not even like chocolate. This lip balm is the opposite. It is literally packed with fresh flavor and tastes like the description itself.

The texture is very hard. I find that I have to apply it directly to my lips rather than using my finger. However, once it warms up, it becomes very moisturizing and actually stays on for a good amount of time.
Another lip product so good, you could eat it! The idea of a lip scrub always intrigued me. I know you can make your own but come on.... let's be real, it probably wouldn't taste as good as this. The Mint Julips Lip Scrub is a combo of mint and chocolate sugar made to buff dead skin cells off the lips and leave them fresh and smooth.

A little goes a long way with this. You'll be temped to eat it once you've scrubbed everything off your lips (trust me). It left my lips feeling smooth and chapped free! I just couldn't get over how delicious it smelled and tasted :)
This shower jelly will make you feel like a kid again! "Whoosh" is a blue shower jelly made to invigorate and wake up your body. With lemon, lime, grapefruit, and rosemary extracts, this shower jelly delivers an unforgettable scent. It definitely wakes you up. I wouldn't say I'd choose this scent for a date night just because it does have that raw fruit scent. However, I used it when I was sick and it seemed to really revive me to some extent.

Again, a little goes a long way with this. The only problem I had was that it kept slipping out of my hands! I'm not sure if there's a proper method to applying it but I need to figure something out!
Last, but not least is the "King of Skin" Body Butter Bar. This HAS to be the most interesting body product I've ever seen. You basically take the bar and rub it all over your body once you've gotten out of the shower. It immediately turns into a moisturizing oil that stays on your skin all day for intense moisture. If you aren't a fan of residue, you may not like this product, or you may prefer it at night. However, having dry skin, I'll take anything!

I'm definitely a fan of this bar. For me, it's more convenient than applying lotion to my skin, mainly because you don't have to rub it in! This is another bar that has a scent I can't really put my finger on. The description says mashed bananas, avocados, milk, and lavender. The scent is earthy. Definitely no sweetness to it. However, it doesn't seem to stick around long.

So, what did you guys think about these Lush products? Have you tried any before? If you're an avid Lush user, be sure to shoot me some recommendations! I'm having a field day with mine.

Until next time...

  1. Mint Julips is one of my favorites. I normally pair it with their Honey Trap lip balm! Ocean Salt is an awesome exfoliator - Buffy bar is amazing too. If you like baths, try a bath bomb! They're so fun.

    1. I was torn between Honey Trap or Whip Stick, but my love for chocolate orange prevailed! That'll be next on my list!

  2. Nice, I got my friend the santa baby lush lip balm for Christmas with other stuff. The chocolate one looks great!

  3. I have heard so many good things about Lush! ♥ The stores are even very popular here in England. I really need to try some of their products out.

  4. Ah, Lush, how I love thee!
I have so many favourite products by them, but my staples include the "Angels on Bare Skin" scrub, and the "Celestial" face cream (ah-mazing for dry skin!) - I use them both everyday.
My favourite luxury product (that I don't buy often mainly because it's expensive) is the "Olive Branch" shower gel (such a long lasting, beautiful scent!), "Helping Hands" hand cream, and anything scented with their "Karma" scent.
I could seriously go on for days, but I'll stop here!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts of these products - I haven't tried any of them yet, but I think I will after reading your review :)
Glad to hear you had a great holiday!

    1. Thanks for the recommendations, Carley! I should have jumped on the wagon a long time ago! Loving the products!
