Bare Minerals Holiday Collection Series: City Lights

Hi everyone! I'm FINALLY able to start on my Bare Minerals Holiday Collection series! I absolutely love when holiday value kits come out, I'm so addicted! (can't stop won't stop moment)

The first holiday collection I wanted to share from Bare Minerals is the "City Lights" collection. BM generally does a similar kit like this every year that ends up being $54. It's a 9-piece face and eye set (by face I mean more accessory items like blush and Radiance colors).

This is always the most popular set at the store I work at so of course, I had to get my hands on it before it was gone. Enjoy!

The Collection (all full size products):
  • READY Blush in "The Grand Entrance"
  • Lid, Line, and Crease Brush (favorite eye brush of all time!)
  • Lash Domination Mascara
  • Marvelous Moxie Gloss in "City Slicker"
  • "Clear Radiance" All Over Face Color
  • Pebble Eye Color
  • Uptown Eye color
  • Lightscape Eye Color
  • "After Hours" Shadow Liner
I was so excited to try this READY Blush. It appeared to be similar to "The Secret's Out" READY Blush but definitely has a lighter finish and more of a cool undertone.

The color took a few applications to actually show up on my fair skin, so, I'm wondering how well it will work with medium and darker complexions. I personally enjoyed the color though!

I received this brush in a summer kit from Bare Minerals a couple summers ago and it immediately became my go-to eye brush. I can literally do one entire eye look using this brush.

The more tapered side is really unique because you can actually use it as a basic shadow brush or as a liner brush. It's small and tapered finish gives you great control for applying the powder liner.

Bare Minerals knew what they were doing when they made the packaging so sleek on Lash Domination! I absolutely love the sleek silver tube with a slight twist at the top (symbolizing the brush).

This is a mascara that has slowly grown on me. I wasn't a fan at first use but I think once the formula dried out, it started performing much better!

Yay for a Moxie! I have to admit, the "Show Me the Shimmer" Holiday Moxie kit (review coming soon) wasn't my favorite as far as color selection, so I was definitely glad to see a gorgeous berry Moxie shade in the City Lights collection.

The Moxie glosses have a plumping/tingling effect, similar to the Buxoms that BM used to carry in their permanent line.

Clear Radiance is what Bare Minerals likes to call an "all over face color". Radiances are generally light shimmering powders which you can use all over your face for a subtle glow, as a highlight, or mixed with foundation or Mineral Veil for an illuminating finish.

Clear Radiance, in particular, has a slight pink undertone. It's very subtle (hence why there's no swatch) and one of my personal favorites.

The Shadows

Pebble is a soft light mauve shade with a slight sheen finish. I love using it in the crease as a subtle transition color.

Uptown is a golden bronze shimmer. If you're familiar with Bare Minerals eye colors, you may agree when I say it's almost identical to "Pussy Cat".

Lightscape is a duo-chrome white with a golden sheen undertone. Very similar to the white duo-chrome shade in the READY Duo in "The Scenic Route".

It was really nice to see a "shadow" liner in the collection rather than the newer stick liners. I personally prefer these even though BM has downgraded the color selections a bit. After Hours is a dark charcoal shade, not quite black but not definitely not grey.

The Look
All of the products in this collection deliver a soft, every-day-wearable look. Some of my personal favorites were the Moxie Gloss in "City Slicker", "Lid, Line, and Crease Brush", and After Hours Shadow Liner.

I hope you all enjoyed the first post in my Bare Minerals Holiday Series! This has been a huge request on my channel and of course I wanted to carry the love over to the blog.

As always, Thanks for reading!
Until next time...
