Believe the Hype : Sigma Brushes

Hi everyone!
Happy Labor Day weekend! What are your plans? :)

Today I'm talking about one of the most well-known cosmetic brush companies out there, Sigma Beauty.
I've been on YouTube for a little over a year now and I was first introduced to Sigma after watching numerous beauty gurus gush about them.

I never really thought I needed more makeup brushes (in all reality, I really don't) because most brush companies design a lot of brushes for liquid/cream products, which I didn't wear at the time. Now that I've branched out into the liquid/cream world, I started thinking a different brand of brushes would be good to try for once, Sigma automatically came to mind.

So, I rounded up a few brushes off of their site and took the plunge (a pretty pricey plunge). Ironically, most of the brushes I bought were eye makeup brushes, in my defense, I only own 1 good blending brush so I was definitely on the hunt for those. I also purchased a contour brush and a concealer brush to use with my BM Correcting Concealer.

Before I start, if you're interested in any of the individual brushes I purchased, Sigma is having a 20% off Labor Day sale on all individual eye shadows going on now through September 2nd! Use code "SAVE20LD" at check out or code "LJW2013" to receive 10% off of your entire purchase (codes cannot be combined)

Here's what I got - enjoy!

Sigma P88 (Precision Flat Angled Brush)
This has probably been one of my most lusted after brushes. I've recently been big on using my Bare Minerals cream concealer but I felt as if my fingers weren't doing the job. The concealer would just rub away or crease on me.

I was so shocked at how well the P88 brush blended my concealer in! It seriously gave me more coverage than just using my finger. It's also great for eye shadow bases. I may have to purchase another one of these puppies ;)

Sigma E25 Blending Brush
This blending brush is perfect for blending out your deep smokey eyes! It fits the outer part of my eye perfect so I can create a smooth windshield wiper motion while I'm blending shadows out

It's definitely not tapered, but more of a flat blending brush.

Sigma Small Tapered Blending E45
PERFECT for precise creases and getting an awesome diffused blend right in the center of your crease. I've also found that it can act as a larger pencil brush.

Sigma Tapered Blending E35
This is your classic and perfect blending brush. Not too big, not too fluffy, and not too small. Fits into the crease like a gem!

Sigma E36 Blending
Isn't this the cutest blending brush you ever did see? This brush, again, is ideal for precise cut creases and blending directly above your crease with transitional shades. I've never owned a blending brush like this but it is so good for precise eye looks!

Sigma F05 Small Contour Brush
I've never really been big on contouring, mainly because I haven't found a brush that fits my jaw structure very well. This brush is so nice. Like, I almost feel guilty for using it haha

The F05 can deliver a chiseled contour along with more of a subtle blown out contour, which is what I like about it!

Sigma E55 Eye Shading Brush
The E55 is perfect for packing on shadow, highlighting the brow bone, and inner corner.

I'm enjoying the amazing quality of these brushes and I'm so glad I finally decided to give them a try. And to be honest, some of the eye brushes were the same, or less, than some drugstore eye shadow brushes I've found. I would highly recommend investing in Sigma brushes if you're looking for great quality and precision.

Oh, and they probably have any brush you could possibly imagine!

Until next time...

  1. I have the eye and face kit. I love them both so much. I was on convert from YT as well and I'm so glad I bought the sets. They are the best brushes I have used! I'm glad you enjoy them too!
