Unruly Brow Basics

Hi everyone! I was so glad to see all of the positive comments about my Dupe Series! It makes me that much more excited to dig into it and find unique makeup dupes :)

Today I'm sticking with another beauty post. You know how I've mentioned several times that my eye brows are severely unshaped and are CONSTANTLY growing? Well...if you missed the memo then that's the case. I can remember going out and buying a really expensive brow product from a famous brow brand a few months ago. I was hoping it would change my brows forever. Eh, that didn't happen.

I quickly realized that it was probably better to keep it simple when it comes to unshaped/unruly brows. So, I'm here today to share with you my simple brow basics that help to shape my brows and give them a natural finish. I hope you enjoy! Oh...and remember, this is a NATURAL look, not the basically tattooed on eye brows you see on instagram ;)

What I Use:

This is by far the easiest AND most inexpensive method I've found to work for filling in my eye brows. The E.L.F. Brow Kit is $3 and the Maybelline Great Lash "Clear Mascara" is aroun $2.99-$4.99 depending on where you buy it.

I've found for my brows that powder generally looks the most natural. Pencils (especially thin ones) ALWAYS look drawn on and I think it's because my brows are so long, it's harder to mimic longer brow hairs in my opinion. I mean, seriously, it's your eye brows...you can use anything from eye shadow, eye liner, brow kits, brow pens, or brow pencils to fill them in, why not keep it cheap and simple?

Even the little brow brush in the E.L.F. kit is useful! I like using the softer side for the powder in the brow kit. As for the wax, I recently bought the angled liner brush from Target about 2 weeks ago and I've been loving it! I've been using the Maybelline Clear "Mascara" (not a mascara in my opinion lol) for quite some time now and although it doesn't paste your brows to your forehead, it still has good holding power and doesn't leave your brows looking like crispy caterpillars ;)

Right now, these are my brow basics. What are yours? :)

Until next time...
Love,
Shelbey

P.S.- Here's my latest makeup tutorial for those of you who haven't seen ;)

  1. I like using the elf lash/brow gel after filling my brows in and it's only $1 :)
I also just bought the Rimmel Accelerator Serum to grow lashes and brows. I've read good reviews on it. Most saw results after 2 weeks! So I hope if works for me too.
