Dupe Series: High End Blush & Bronzers

Hi everyone! It's dupe time again! I decided for this series that I would focus on two affordable brands which have an awesome blush/bronzer selection, "NYX" and "Physicians Formula".
High End Blush & Bronzer Dupes

*All products mentioned cannot be called "EXACT" duplicates.... but pretty dang close ;)

  • Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in "Beige" $42 vs. Physician's Formula Shimmer Strips - Custom Bronzer and Highlighter in "Vegas Strip" $11.99
We've all heard about the Bobbi Brown "Shimmer Bricks". They are gorgeous and give you a fabulous glowing highlight, blush, or bronzer, depending on which one you choose. Now, you've heard me talk about how much I love Physician's Formula Bronzers before. They give you the perfect amount of color and ALWAYS have the most natural glow to them. Their Shimmer Strips blush/bronzers are very similar to the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks, the color selections may not be as vast as BB but the main compact I found to be close to the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in "Beige" was the PF Custom Bronzer in "Vegas Strip" - same undertones, same highlighting + bronzing effect AND it comes in a lighter shade for us fair women ;)

  • NARS "Orgasm" Blush $29 vs. NYX "Pinched" Blush $5 :
NARS "Orgasm"....ahhh, such a raved about blush - but for almost thirty bucks, can you say it's THAT gorgeous? NYX is the dupe master for blushes in my opinion, there was so many blushes I could have duped but I wanted to keep it simple for now. "Pinched" is an astonishingly close dupe for NARS "Orgasm". It may be the SLIGHTEST bit pinker but nothing that's too noticeable. NYX also makes another blush called "Summer Peach" which is close to "Orgasm", only more on the peachier side. Check it out!

  • Urban Decay Baked Bronzer "Gilded" $26 vs. Physician's Formula Sexy Booster Bronzer $13.95 :
If your looking for a bronzer with that subtle hint of gold, again, I'd make my way over to the Physician's Formula section at your nearest Walmart! A lot of their bronzers have a nice golden glow to them, the newest being the "Sexy Booster" bronzer. Urban Decay can easily be recognized for their awesome eye shadows but I think their baked bronzer line can definitely be duped by PF.

  • NARS "Exhibit A" $29 Blush vs. NYX "Red" Blush $5 :
Back to NARS and NYX. I wanted to dupe a blush that is wearable on deeper/darker skin tones, NARS "Exhibit A" came to my mind immediately. This is literally a RED blush. Not orange, not slightly red, but RED. I've only swatched this color in stores, and man, you have to keep a light hand on it. Of course, NYX has an awesome dupe with the most literal name ever, "Red". It's a little more cooler than "Exhibit A" but obviously, a red blush is a red blush ha ha

  • Too Faced Sweetheart Beads $32 vs. PF "Glow & Mood Boosting Bronzing Veil" $13.95 :
This is for all of my bronzing weary friends out there. Bronzing beads are awesome to have because they are more sheer than a regular bronzer and give you the slightest hint of color. Too Faced makes some mighty fancy ones, although I have to head back to my PF section! The Physician's Formula Happy Booster "Glow and Mood Boosting Bronzing Veil" has the same bead-like shape (hearts in this case) and even calls itself a "veil" instead of bronzer (of course, it's still considered a bronzer in my opinion- anything that gives you a warm color) If bronzing beads are something you might be interested in, I would recommend trying the affordable version first.

  • Smashbox "Halo Long Wearing Blush" $24 vs. NYX "HD Studio Photogenic Grinding Blush" $16.49 :
Okay, so these particular blushes were duped for the packaging, not a specific color. Obviously both are on the pricey side. I honestly don't see what all of the hype about these "grinding" blushes is, but I wanted to point out that NYX has a perfectly good grinding blush dupe for the Smashbox brand. Even though the prices only vary a little less than $8, that's $8 you could spend on more makeup my little addicts ;)

That's all for this series! Let me know what you'd like to see next, as far as brand, eyes, lips etc.

Until next time...

P.S. - Here's my latest video in case you missed it

    1. Love seeing your comments, Carley! I'm so glad I can help!

Did I read last week that you had bought your domain name? If so, I'm having trouble getting to your blog :( It keeps telling me there's a 404 error.

I'll keep trying until I prevail though! ;)
