NEW Monthly Box Subscription: Boxy Charm

Hello everyone! If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen my latest subscription box from a new company called, Boxy Charm.

I was so intrigued by this monthly box because it's all full size DRUGSTORE products?! I know, it sounds crazy. Who on earth is going to pay for a monthly box full of products you can get at Walgreens? Well, I'm not sure if you all have noticed but some drugstore products can be just as pricey as high end, or even at times, more expensive! I wanted to give this box a try because I don't necessarily branch out into the drugstore cosmetics very much.

Info:

  • $21 a month
  • 5-6 full size products
  • Brands such as: Maybelline, Revlon, Rimmel, Essie, Sally Hansen, Essence of Beauty, Tresemme, Cover Girl, Nexxus, Orly, OPI, Organix, Neutrogena, L'oreal, John Freida, and Mary Kay
  • Cancel at any time
  • Reward System
Now, are you all excited to check out the products I received in my Boxy Charm?! Keep Reading!

Essie Nail Polish

Okay, seriously, who wouldn't be excited to get an Essie polish in a monthly box?! Essie has such a fabulous collection of colors, and reputation. This was definitely one of the first items I noticed when I opened my box. Not only is it full size, but it's not a dreadful color that nobody wants!

Retail Price: $8

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Strips
We already know how big of a fan I am of the Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Top Coat! I was definitely excited to see SH in this box. I really love the concept of these nail polish strips. Although, I have not mastered the application process yet. These colored strips are meant to be nail adhesives that act as a nail polish without the drying process. I received a beautiful shimmering gold, again, love the color selection!

Retail Price: $11.99
Essie "En-uf is En-uf" with Sally Hansen Salon Effects

Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush
Oh. my. gosh. I have longed to try these cute little blushes ever since they came out. I kept seeing mixed reviews on them and just could't force myself to pay $8 for a tiny blush I wasn't sure I would even use. I'm glad Boxy Charm chose these to be in their boxes. The color I received was "Coffee Cake" which is right up my alley. I'm more of a warm blush kind of girl (not too into pinks) I found the blush to be sheer but buildable.

Retail Price: $6.50

Rimmel London "Glam Eyes" HD
I'm a big fan of Rimmel's eye products so I was curious to try out this little palette I always see near the mascaras. The color I got was "Royal Blue" which I was so nervous about (blue is almost always my number one eye makeup "no-no") However, this was more of a green shadow. There was some deep blue triangles but they kind of just showed up as almost a black. I went outside of my comfort zone one day and did a smokey eye with this palette and I actually liked it!

Retail Price: $5.68

Kate Moss Lipstick (Rimmel London)
You all know I love me some red lipstick! I received this Kate Moss Rimmel Lipstick in "60". I'm a big fan of the KM for Rimmel collection. I have a couple of her lip sticks and I really like them.

Retail Price: about $5

Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Gloss
Of course, you can't really go wrong with a neutral nude gloss. I had to open this and try it before I took photos (typical me) which is why there's no packaging on it. This gloss was light and airy with no flavor (pluses for me) It will definitely pair well with a nude lipstick or alone.

Retail Price: about $5

Styli-Style Eye Liner
I feel like I have seen this brand before but I'm not sure where. I don't own anything from them. This is a standard khol eye liner. The color I got was in "Jade" which was a nice emerald green (I actually used it with the Rimmel eye shadow) It was smooth and very wearable!

Retail Price: $5.99

Essence of Beauty Brush Set
I literally thought this was so flippin' cute! These brushes are perfect for travel! Of course, they aren't going to complete you're makeup brush set but they are definitely good to have on hand. I always like to keep a regular face brush in my car to touch up with mineral veil and I would say the large black one will do a great job!

Retail Price: About $10

*Not photographed: Mary Kay Makeup Bag
Retail Price: about $5

Final Total of This Month's Box:
$63.16

Final Thoughts:
  • Very pleased with the products, colors, brands etc.
  • There were 9 full size products?! CRAZY
  • I would like to see more of an overall "theme" for the boxes in the future.
  • Definitely a nice variety of products ranging from nail polish, eye makeup, makeup brushes etc.
  • HUGE DISCLAIMER: I noticed some of the products had marks through the bar codes, indicating that they had been on sale at some point in time. Some of the products are also discontinued. I'm a little on the fence about that but for right now, as long as nothing has been tampered with, I'm good.
I really hope Boxy Charm can incorporate some newer products into the next box! I will keep you posted :)
