Hey everyone! Today is another gloomy day. I've been taking care if my boyfriend, Will, for the past week or so. He has been stricken with Type A Influenza :( I could possibly be coming down with something as well. Today hasn't been so hot!
However, I wanted to share a quick tip to all my Bare Mineral ladies out there. A big question I get working at a BM store is, "How do I get the foundation left in the bottom of my container when I'm almost out?" Well, the solution is simple and I'm here to share that info today! Enjoy!
What you'll need:
- Your foundation
- A dime
Steps:
- Flip your foundation over to the bottom (where the name of the shade is)
- Take a dime and begin to press it into the groove around the container
- Keep going around the groove until the bottom insert pops off
Tah-Dah! You're done!
See, that wasn't so bad was it? Most people think the TOP of the foundation comes off when in fact, the BOTTOM is just a plastic/rubberish insert that pops right out! You can get DAYS worth of foundation out of the very bottom when you do this.
I hope you all found this helpful!
Love,
Shelbey
P.S.- I wanted to mention that I posted a helpful tutorial today for those of you who may be sick like myself, and Will! I had to go to class today (unfortunately) and I was definitely not feeling great. I provided some makeup tips to "perk up" your complexion on sick days! I'll link it HERE if you're interested ;)

After two unsuccessful trips to Ulta, I finally found the Rimmel Scandaleyes liner in nude and the Maybelline color tattoo in barely branded at Target. I got the very last one of the color tattoo in that color. I'm excited to give them both a try! Love your blog--keep up the great posts!
ReplyDeleteYay! Glad you found them! You will love them both. Thanks for the kind comment :)
DeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteThis is THE best tip I've stumbled across on Pinterest. Thank you so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHow do you take such great pictures? What kind of background do you use, and what camera?
ReplyDeleteAlso, I have a really old bareMinerals foundation pot (the kind that were small and did not have the click-lid) and with those old ones they TOP part of the lid is plastic, and that's what you would pop off to get to your foundation, not the bottom. That is probably where you're customers are coming from (since I had an issue with the new ones too, and I broke a pot once trying to tear the top part off (that I thought popped out easily!)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this tutorial! I had 3 almost empty pots lying around and couldn't bear to through them away because I hate wasting product.
ReplyDeleteThank you soooo much! I have about 8 of these I refused to throw away because I knew there had to be a way to get them off. Thanks Shelbey!
ReplyDeleteOhh my gosh I've been staring at the last little bit for years thinking it was such a waste never being able to use it, thank you soooooo much!!
ReplyDeletePerfect! I hated when all of the blush fell into the lid since it didnt have the same type of closure. It happened especially when travelling. I just transferred my blush into an old foundation container. Win!
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you, thank you! I am between colours so always had to carry two for touch ups then mix them in the lid which was never consistent. Now I can premix to the right tone and fill the container... this is the best tip EVER!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are awesome! This was so easy and I got the last bit of my powder out.
ReplyDeleteColloidal trace minerals are just as important to our health and well being as vitamins. Practically since birth we have had it pounded into us that we must eat our vitamins if we are to be healthy.

ReplyDeleteI know this is an old thread but I am hoping you have some insight, I have the 2017 deluxe gold jar and I can not get it to open...I am a mixer and need to modify the foundation color with multiple colors. Do you know of any tricks for this particular jar?
ReplyDeleteI just opened my large gold jar of Bare Minerals by using a Can Opener around the top.
ReplyDeleteHope this is helpful!! ~Amanda
Thank u!!!
DeleteFor the life of me, I could not figure it out for years.
I use the paring knife - I heated the tip of knife with BIC lighter and cut (melt) the lines around the dots and pop it out - I know I love the deluxe jars! And poured in the original BE foundation jar. Solved! I just wish that the deluxe jar lid come off easily.

ReplyDeleteThank you! This is so helpful. I actually do not like the the way the (new) twist/seal jar works in the amount it gives you (too many years using the older jars). So now I can put my bare minerals in an older jar!

ReplyDeleteWow - this worked. I used to waste a lot of fruitless time armed with a needlenose pliers wrestling to get the top off and the dime around the bottom worked. Thank you.
