Elegant Valentine's Day Makeup

Ahh...Valentine's Day. You either love it or you hate it. How do you guys celebrate Valentine's Day?
For Will and I, Valentine's Day ALWAYS falls on some night where we either have late class or some horrific test to study for. Generally we just grab something to eat and call it a night, which is fine with me! (I'm such a home body haha)

So, I wanted to create an elegant and simple tutorial anyone can achieve. All of these products can be duplicated for drugstore makeup easily. I went ahead and posted my live tutorial to my channel, but as always, I post picture tutorials for those who aren't the "video type". Enjoy!

Let's Get Started!

  • Step 1: Apply a gold cream shadow to the lower lid (I used Maybelline Color Tattoo in "Bold Gold"
  • Step 2: Set the cream shadow with a shimmery golden shadow
  • Step 3: Highlight the brow bone (I chose to use a creamy white matte shade)
  • Step 4: Apply black liner to the lower lash line
  • Step 5: Apply your favorite type of black liner to the lash line (I chose a winged liner for this look)
  • Step 6: Taking an eye liner brush, sweep some of the gold cream shadow on the inner corner of your lids
  • Step 7: Apply Mascara

Products Used:
  • Maybelline Color Tattoo Cream Shadow in "Bold Gold"
  • "Cognac" (gold shimmery eye shadow) from Bare Minerals READY Eye Shadow Duo in "The Top Shelf"
  • "Chance"(creamy matte white) from Bare Minerals READY Eye Shadow Duo in "The Nick of Time"
  • Bare Minerals Black Eye Liner
  • Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Mascara

You're Done! (with eyes)

Face Makeup

  • Step 1: After foundation. apply a cool toned pink blush to the apples of your cheeks
  • Step 2: Highlight the high points of your cheek bones
  • Step 3: Apply a long lasting lip color. For a more classic look, I would recommend reds, deep pinks, or jewel tones.
  • Step 4 (optional): Apply a light gloss for a shinier effect

Products Used:
  • Bare Minerals READY Blush in "The Tease"
  • Bare Minerals READY Luminizer in "The Shining Moment"
  • Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in "Smitten"
  • Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Plumping Lip Gloss in "Smooth Talker"

I wanted to get a head start on V-Day tutorials so you can have time to find the products and practice (if needed). Thanks so much for reading!

Love, Shelbey.
