NEW Clinique Chubby Stick Intense: Broadest Berry

Hi everyone! I'm back with an EXCITING post! I'm sure everyone jumped on the "chubby stick" craze long ago, even if it was just the Revlon knock-off.

As soon as the Revlon Just Bitten Balm Stains came out I immediately ran out to try them. They weren't as soft as the original Clinique Chubby Stick, however they did contain more color pay off (which is what I look for in a lip color). Naturally, I stuck with Revlon.

After hearing about the new INTENSE  chubby stick, I had to try them for myself. I went out to the Clinique counter and swatched every shade. The color pay off is amazing! I refused to pay $16 for the original Chubby Sticks since they were so sheer. I can easily say I will be purchasing more of the INTENSE line!

Clinique Chubby Stick INTENSE: "Broadest Berry"
I have seriously been trying to cut back on my makeup purchases since Christmas is coming up. However, whenever I saw these babies I couldn't resist! The Clinique Chubby Stick INTENSE is described as "a perfect medium" between sheer and an opaque lipstick. It took every swatch for me to decide on "Broadest Berry". The initial swatch wasn't as pigmented as I expected but somehow this color beat out the rest.

As you can probably see, the swatch is pretty sheer (still more color than the original though). I was so overwhelmed with color choices I just had to narrow down my favorite color family and pick something that would be semi-wearable.

Color Pay-Off

I was SO pleased when I applied the chubby stick. The color was much more opaque on my lips than it was on my hand. This is absolutely my favorite shade of lip color. Deep berry tones simply make me happy. "Broadest Berry" is a rich plum lip color with more of a brown undertone. The photos above are rough swatches/first application pictures (I literally just bought the Chubby Stick) I will say that I have a couple of very similar colors. However, my lip collection is out of hand and I think I've collected every possible color available so I'm not complaining for my own faults. I also love how you can sheer the intense chubby sticks out if you prefer a more "day-time" look. As for me, I feel naked without some type of semi-bold/colorful lipstick on.

Overall Thoughts:
  1. Easy and soft application
  2. Super rich pigmentation and very opaque
  3. Light on lips
  4. I personally think the color selection could have been better ( I think there's 8 color choices)
  5. Will definitely be a purse favorite!
